FEEDING HILLS – The Faith on Fire Catholic Rally will be held Friday, Aug. 25 from 6-9 p.m. at Sacred Heart Parish in Feeding Hills.

The annual event includes inspiring talks, praise and worship music, reconciliation, eucharistic adoration and procession, and the laying on of hands.

The speakers include Springfield Bishop William D. Byrne; Marian Father Anthony Gramlich, the vice-rector of shrine liturgy at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge; and Father David Aufiero, the pastor of Holy Family Parish in South Deerfield.

“I’m going to be starting the talk where I am today, and where I was last year. Last year, I was coming out of a medical event and this year I am speaking at the event,” said Father Aufiero. He said this is an especially important event as the second phase of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Eucharistic Revival is underway.

“We need to respond to the Gospel in the same way that Mary goes out and makes haste and meets Elizabeth. That’s the way we need to respond to God calling us. My talk will be dedicated to the Blessed Mother, who has been very present to me,” he said.

Food and beverages are available for purchase. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for comfortable seating.

Music will be provided by Psalm 33 of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Westfield and members of the youth band from St. Cecilia Parish in Wilbraham.

In case of rain, the event will be held inside the church. More information can be found at sacredheartfeedinghills.org.
