SPRINGFIELD – Springfield Bishop William D. Byrne will be a guest on the upcoming edition of the EWTN program, “Living Divine Mercy” with Marian Father Chris Alar. The program will be broadcast on Wednesday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m. EST. The following day, it is archived and available on the YouTube Channel, Divine Mercy: www.youtube.com/c/DivineMercy_Official
“Living Divine Mercy” is a weekly 30-minute program on EWTN hosted by Father Alar of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception and originating from The National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge.
Each week, Father Alar and other members of the congregation present teaching on the Divine Mercy message and devotion, as well as stories about Divine Mercy “miracles” in the real lives of Marian Helpers, members of the Marians’ spiritual benefit society. Topics have included returning to the faith, forgiveness, evangelization, praying for the dead, and the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
“Living Divine Mercy” debuted in September 2021 and there have been 44 original episodes to date, all produced in-house at the Divine Mercy Shrine. Bishop Byrne’s episode is number 46. The theme of the show is “The Meaning of the Mass.” In their conversation, Father Alar and Bishop Byrne discuss, among other topics, the importance of the Eucharist and how to persuade fallen-away Catholics to return to Mass.
