Actor Frank Runyeon to present biblical performances at local parish

SOUTH HADLEY – Frank Runyeon, a nationally acclaimed translator and performer of biblical texts, will present his one-man performances at St. Theresa of Lisieux Parish in South Hadley on Feb. 14, 15 and 17.

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, following the 5:30 p.m. Mass and distribution of ashes, he will present his interpretation of The Sermon on the Mount as told by the apostle Matthew to the church in Antioch. The Feb. 15 presentation at 6:30 p.m. will be “Luke: Stories on the Road”, and the Feb. 17, 6:30 p.m. performance will be based on the Gospel of Mark. 

Runyeon also will present ”Salt and Light,” a performance for children on Feb. 17 at 3 p.m., featuring riddles from the Sermon on the Mount, a birthday party from the Gospel of Mark, and a final sing-along.

Runyeon has performed biblical texts for hundreds of people in virtually every state in the United States. He may be best known from his many years on television. He starred opposite Meg Ryan on “As the World Turns,” won two Emmys as a cast member on “Santa Barbara,” and guest-starred on “Falcon Crest,” “Another World,” “Melrose Place,” and “LA Law.”

There is no admission fee for the presentations at St. Theresa’s, which are being sponsored by Beers and Story Funeral Homes. The church is located at 9 East Parkview Drive and is handicapped and wheelchair accessible. All are welcome.
