SPRINGFIELDPope Francis High School, a faith-based college preparatory school serving grades nine-12, has announced an Open House for prospective students will be held Sunday, Nov. 5. The event will include a tour of the new facility on Wendover Road and a presentation at St. Michael’s Academy. Registration for one of three available time slots (noon to 2 p.m., 1 to 3 p.m., and 2 to 4 p.m.) is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Open House will offer prospective families an opportunity to learn about the benefits of a Pope Francis High School education. Families will be able to meet with faculty, staff, and current students and parents; explore the clubs and activities available to students; learn more about our competitive sports teams; take a tour of our future home; learn about financial assistance; participate in raffle drawings; and enjoy light refreshments.

“As we begin planning to move into our new facility for the 2018-2019 academic year, we’re challenging the expectations of what a faith-based education should be,” said Ann Rivers, director of admissions. “Our new, state-of-the-art home will offer students plenty of open space in which to collaborate and learn. We’re excited to offer our prospective families the opportunity to tour the building and learn about the exciting educational opportunities that await their children at Pope Francis.”

Attendees must register in advance in order to tour the new facility. “We encourage anyone interested in becoming a student at Pope Francis to visit our website and register now for this event,” said Rivers.

Students who attend the Open House will be provided with information about the admissions process as well as the upcoming Placement Test for incoming freshmen.

“Given our rich history, we are uniquely designed to accept the challenge of change,” said head of school Paul Harrington. “Strengthened by our new school facility, rigorous academic programs and an array of extracurricular activities, we are called to serve an ever-changing student population. We look forward to welcoming a new generation of students and families when Pope Francis Preparatory School opens next August.”

To register for the Open House, visit popefrancishigh.org/admissions/open-house. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 1. For more information, contact Ann Rivers, director of admissions at askus@popefrancishigh.org.
