St. Michael’s Academy seeks memorabilia for heritage event

SPRINGFIELD – St. Michael’s Academy, 153 Eddywood St., here, is currently seeking memorabilia from the original 14 Catholic elementary schools in Springfield.
The memorabilia will be displayed at a signature event planned by St. Michael’s Academy on Oct. 28, 2017. The theme of the event will be “Honoring our heritage, celebrating the present, shaping the future.”
The original schools include Cathedral Grammar, Holy Cross, Holy Family, Holy Name, Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Hope, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Our Lady of the Rosary, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Sacred Heart, St. Aloysius, St. Joseph, St. Matthew and St. Thomas.

St. Michael’s Academy is the largest Catholic elementary school in western Massachusetts. It was established in 2009 and created from the five remaining Catholic schools in the city of Springfield. These included Holy Cross, Holy Name, Our Lady of Hope, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
