FEEDING HILLS — The 13th annual Faith on Fire Catholic Rally will be held Thursday, Aug. 21 and Friday, Aug. 22 from 6-9 p.m. at Sacred Heart Parish in Feeding Hills. The rally includes inspiring talks, praise and worship music, reconciliation, eucharistic adoration, a procession and a chance to be prayed over.
The featured speakers are Brother Shawn Natola, Noel Terranova, Benjamin Dickmann and Dave Cloutier.
“This event has witness speakers who focus on the following: ‘I was,’ ‘Jesus did,’ and ‘I am,’” said Linda Bathel, one of the organizers of the event.
“They are everyday people whose lives have been transformed by Jesus’ saving grace and they now walk with the Lord and want to share that grace with everyone,” she said.
“The priests will address hope, faith and fire: faith, intercession, repentance, and evangelization,” she said.
After the eucharistic procession each night, people will have an opportunity to be prayed over which is a highlight for many.
“I think we all seek a deeper connection to God. I hope everyone walks away feeling less burdened, more hopeful, with more happiness and a desire to seek more from our God,” said Bathel. “This is a great family event. People of all ages are encouraged to attend.”
Praise and worship will be provided by the Psalm 33 Music ministry. All are asked to bring their own lawn chairs. In case of rain, the rally will be held inside Sacred Heart Parish.
“We would love as many people as possible to join us on Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. to do the Jericho walk to protect the property from storms and to bless it for the Faith on Fire event. If people can’t physically join us, I ask that they pray for good weather and blessing to come upon everyone,” she said.
Both the Agawam Knights of Columbus Council 5585 and the St. Martha’s Guild will be running concessions beginning at 5 p.m. in the parish center.
