REGIONAL
Staff report

CHICOPEE – Supporters, alumni and students of the College of Our Lady Elms gathered for a gala event at the Mary Dooley center on campus, Saturday, Oct. 5, for a special announcement and update on the college’s capital campaign entitled, Building Bridges.

The campaign, launched last October, had a goal of twenty million dollars. To date, a total of $25,444,665 has been raised.

“Elms has conducted a few project-based campaigns in the past, but this is the first-ever comprehensive, multi-year campaign in the college’s history,” said Elms College president Harry E. Dumay, Ph.D., MBA.

“Together, the Elms community is ‘building a bridge’ for the future generations of students and positioning the college for a bright future,” said Dumay.

The Building Bridges campaign is anchored around “5E’s”: excel in academics; expand experiential learning; elevate ethical leadership; engage the learning community and enhance sustainability.

Several benefactors have made major contributions to support the campaign including: Michele and Donald D’Amour; Cynthia and William Lyons; Regina and Joseph Hitchery; Francis Kirley; the W.K. Kellogg Foundation; and the Irene E. & George A. Davis Foundation.

Our Lady of the Elms was founded in 1928 by the Sisters of St. Joseph and offers a coed Catholic education.

The campaign will close December 31st. For more information, go to https://www.elms.edu/building-bridges/
