The Station of the Cross celebrates 25 years of Catholic programming

BUFFALO, NY – The Station of the Cross Catholic Media Network, headquartered in Buffalo, N.Y., is marking its 25-year anniversary with a celebration on Aug. 24 at the Niagara Falls Convention Center.  

The celebration will include two parts, a General Event and a VIP Gala Dinner (that includes both parts). 

The General Event, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., features talks by renowned speakers Raymond Arroyo, Candace Owens (a recent Catholic convert), Bishop Joseph Strickland, Jesuit Father Robert McTeigue, Mother Miriam, Jim Havens, and Joe McClane.

The VIP Gala Dinner, 5 p.m.-8 p.m., offers a unique opportunity to mingle with the guest speakers over hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and a sit-down dinner. The dinner also will include special bonus talks by Raymond Arroyo and Candace Owens.  

Tickets for the General Event are $100, and for the VIP Dinner $300 (includes admission to the General Event). Registration is currently open to the public at thestationofthecross.com. Tickets are limited.

Wright added, “We’ve heard from so many people over the years about how The Station of the Cross has been such a blessing in their lives, helping them to get closer to God and to grow in their Catholic faith. That is really what we are celebrating, and it’s all happening at a place of breathtaking beauty that has God’s fingerprints all over it: amazing Niagara Falls.”

An affiliate of Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), The Station of the Cross broadcasts Catholic programs seven days a week, 24 hours a day. In addition to airing shows produced by EWTN and Ave Maria Radio, the network continues to offer a growing number of self-produced shows as well.

The Station of the Cross was founded by Jim and Joanne Wright, and Mary Ellen Capece Nichols, after attending a retreat at EWTN in Alabama, where they were inspired by Mother Angelica, foundress of EWTN, to start a Catholic radio station in their hometown. The first program aired on Aug. 15, 1999 (the feast of the Assumption) out of a small station in Amherst, N.Y. Over the past 25 years, it has expanded into a radio network comprising 20 terrestrial stations across the northeastern United States, reaching more than 10 million potential listeners. Its programs can also be heard at thestationofthecross.com and the free iCatholicRadio app, which has been downloaded by 365,000 listeners all over the world. Additionally, the network’s iCatholicMusic app broadcasts Catholic music by top Catholic artists.
