REGIONAL
Staff report

SPRINGFIELD – Singer-songwriter Deirdre Reilly will present an acoustic Irish Country Christmas Show at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish (OLSH) in Springfield, Sunday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. Reilly, a Holyoke native, is an international recording artist.

Reilly began performing at age 5. Born in Holyoke to Irish immigrant parents, she has been performing throughout the United States and Canada since she was 17. At 18, she toured with Paddy Noonan’s Irish Variety Show.

She has also performed in the Country Music USA Show at Opryland Show Park in Nashville, Tenn.

“We’re very excited to welcome Dee Reilly to OLSH for this concert. Dee is a good friend of the parish, especially to our pastoral minister, Sister Connie,” said Father Ryan Rooney, the pastor of OLSH.

Father Rooney will be a guest performer.

“She’s been known to welcome me up on the stage when I’ve attended her shows elsewhere. We’ve been talking about this concert for quite some time. So, we’ll have one of the most popular Irish performers around together with a singing priest, singing classic Christmas tunes we all love to hear,” he said.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the OLSH pastoral center Mon-Thurs., 9-1 p.m., after weekend Masses, or by sending a check made out to OLSH with a self-addressed envelope to 51 Roswell St., Springfield, MA 01109.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the parish.
