ADAMS – Students at St. Stanislaus Kostka School in Adams performed an end of the year concert for families and staff, Monday, May 22 inside St. Stanislaus Church which is part of St. John Paul II Parish. The students in grades pre-k through eight performed praise and worship songs.

Second grade student Caroline Cowie explained her class was singing “Marvelous Light.”

“I like to sing because your voice can go loud and quiet,” said Cowie, adding that Jesus gives out ‘marvelous light.’

Joshua Superneau, who performed an original song, “Living Waters,” is the music teacher at St. Stanislaus Kostka School.

“Being able to worship Christ is a huge part of the faith. So when doing this set and figuring out all the songs I really wanted the kids to connect to the music in a deeper way,” said Superneau.

Some of the selections included “Lord I Lift Your Name on High” and “Jesus Messiah.”

Grade eight student Julia Daly performed a piano solo.

It’s wonderful. We got the solo with the one girl who is extremely talented and then the children will get up there and belt it out and really sing. They do have a heart for Christ,” said David Orton, interim principal at St. Stanislaus Kostka School.

Maryanne Santelli volunteers at the school and assisted with the concert. She also has two grandchildren who are students.

This was amazing to work on. Josh is an incredible musician. Working with the kids in each class, we were really trying to pick songs that would accentuate their voices. St. Stan’s is the best school ever,” said Santelli.

A video version of this story will be featured on Saturday’s edition of “Real to Reel” which airs at 7 p.m. on WWLP-22 NEWS.
