SPRINGFIELD – Father Thomas Lisowski, a priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield, has had his full priestly faculties restored, including the pastorate of St. Patrick Parish, Northfield, by Archbishop-designate Mitchell T. Rozanski, the diocesan apostolic administrator.

Father Lisowski was placed on a temporary leave as a result of an allegation of misconduct which became known to the diocese through social media postings.

Upon learning of the allegation, the diocese referred the matter to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. It was later reviewed by diocesan investigation services, which completed its investigation and forwarded a report to the Diocesan Review Board.

The Diocesan Review Board recommended to Archbishop Rozanski that Father Lisowski’s faculties be restored.

This action takes effect immediately.
