Gallery: Kindergarten students celebrate Mardi Gras, a local pastor turns 50

SPRINGFIELD —  In the days leading up to the beginning of Lent, Catholics in the Springfield Diocese celebrated special events and people, including national poster contest winners at a Springfield parish and a Chicopee pastor who celebrated his 50^th birthday.

The Feb. 16 “This Week in the Diocese” photo gallery also features kindergarten students who celebrated Mardi Gras at a local Catholic school, a Father-Daughter Dance and a pasta supper fundraiser at another school.

The purpose of the gallery is to chronicle and celebrate Catholic life in western Massachusetts and subjects can include people, places and events in parishes and schools throughout the Springfield Diocese.
