AMHERST – Beginning on Sept. 10, a monthly Vietnamese Mass will be celebrated on Sundays at 5 the Our Lady of Peace Chapel at the Newman Catholic Center, 472 North Pleasant St., here.

The Newman Catholic Center is located on the campus of the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst, and will join with the Vietnamese community to celebrate these liturgies.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to join with our Vietnamese brothers and sisters in Christ here at Newman and to celebrate their rich culture during our Catholic liturgies,” said Father Gary Dailey, director of the Newman Center.

The Newman Center is a nonprofit organization and is an apostolate of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield. The center serves the students, faculty and staff of UMass Amherst and the other colleges that make up the Five College Area: Smith, Amherst, Hampshire and Mount Holyoke.
