CHICOPEE – Pope Francis High School will hold its inaugural Cardinal Classic Golf Tournament Monday, June 12 at Springfield Country Club. Registration begins at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. A dinner, raffle and auction will begin at 6:30 p.m.

“As Pope Francis High School continues to grow and take shape following the merger of our legacy schools, Cathedral and Holyoke Catholic, we are happy to present an opportunity to bring so many together under the banner of Pope Francis and Catholic secondary education,” said Kevin White, chief advancement officer for Pope Francis High School. “The funds raised from the Cardinal Classic are important because it will help us to provide for the future.”

The monies raised will allow Pope Francis to offer additional tuition assistance to keep an education at the school accessible to all who seek to be a part of the community. It will also help the school continue to expand curriculum offerings so students are better prepared for their futures. Additionally, proceeds will be used to update technology at the school, enabling it to stay current in an ever-changing world of technology.

The $150/golfer entry fee includes greens fee, cart, use of practice facility, barbecue lunch, on-course competitions, hors d’oeuvres and dinner. Prizes will be awarded for low team score, longest drive and closest to the hole. Sponsorship opportunities are available on the Pope Francis High School website, popefrancishigh.org.

“Please join us for a fun day of golf, camaraderie, and community, all while benefiting Catholic secondary education in the Diocese of Springfield,” said White.
